Having purchased this to replace my Liteon DVD recorder I was very disapointed. Could not access Sky movie channels, the set up selected programmes that were stuttering and freezing, the so called manual was useless which demanded a cd downlaod and print (74 pages) which was time consuming and costly in terms both paper and ink. I had (foolishly expected to able to play prerecorded DVDs – but you cannot the facility does not exist. so if you need a DVD recorder then check the specs very carefully! Mines on its way back after 24 hrs!

If this is anything like my 9200t, and you like the idea of the picture freezing regularly and messages informing you of ” Hard Disc error” followed by the machine switching itself and recording failure, then you will be chuffed to bits with it.

I have bought two tv recorders through Amazon and although I had no initial problems over the first few weeks, they have both become progressively more unreliable and crash several times every evening – rebooting themselves and restarting.
It has not been possible to contact the original sellers and they have just made me somewhat jaundiced about buying cheaper products off Amazon … I think they were probably returned with a fault, nothing was found and they were just sold again as new. Then the company disappeared.
So warranty claims on Amazon purchases can be very problematic and the problems more than outweigh the initial low cost
I bought a Humax PVR 8000 – excellent machine for 2 years then the hard disk became faulty – the attitude and lack of help from Humax was amazing – it would cost over £70 to repair – I also bought direct from Humax a PVR9200TBX-G – this started going wrong after 6 months and the lack of help is appalling – I retuned the damn thing numerous times and it still doesn’t record most of the time – it’s hit and miss. They are brilliant for a few months but then just go wrong – avoid.
