  1. I already have Norton 360 (2009) installed on my PC, and I thought getting this would be a better upgrade for next year, but by comparison it isn’t.

Looking on the table on the back of the box, Norton Antivirus only does several of the services a their 360 package offers. Norton Internet Security 2010 does all that Antivirus 2010 does, only lacking online backup (which 360 has!)

My advice is bide your time, and if Norton release 360 edition for 2010, get that instead and get the all round virus, spyware AND backup security all in one.

In the mean time, Norton 360 (2009) is still stable and fast, and is your best option for all your needs.

I’ve always felt out of all the Antivirus software programs, that Norton is probably the best of them all, it constantly updating and getting the latest virus definitions to keep your computer safe, not to mention the symantec site is incredibly helpful and informative with an incredible database of all known viruses, what they do, and how they can be prevented or removed

Takes a bit of time to install norton antivirus 2010 I felt, and I would definately recommend it if you have a large computer harddrive rather than a smaller one as it can take up quite a bit of space after all the latest updates have installed. Also takes quite a while to install and get it set up but once it’s on, it’s hard for any incoming virus to poke a hole through.

You can use this on any three computers in your house and make sure you keep your family’s computers safe. Definately worth the money – used to be double the price for such security.

This is very easy to install and would be no problem for a non-technical minded user as there are no complicated questions or customization to face. There was a requirement to download an update of 59MB, but it’s worth it to be fully protected. Once installed and updated I ran the full system scan which took just over an hour (left idle with nothing else running). Future scans only need to be a quick scan, and these can be scheduled to run regularly at a time that suits you (when the laptop/pc is turned on). The program stays up-to-date via the internet, so you are always protected against new threats quickly and efficiently. This version can be installed on three systems making it great value for money.

More of the same from Norton. Easy to install and can be trusted to keep your computer safe from all the nasty viruses floating around cyber space.

Norton 2010 does what Norton always does well, stops viruses, however it does still slow down your PC more than the average anti-virus. That said Norton has added several new features to this edition, including Insight and Sonar, which inevitably will require a bit more processor and memory usage. Insight is a useful enough tool it, you can use it to scan a downloaded file to get a quick lowdown on it, it gives you information such as when it was released, how trustworthy it is and how many other Norton users have used it. This kind of information is useful because often downloaded viruses pass straightforward virus scans because they’ve only been created quite recently but this Insight scan tells you what Norton knows about it and you can make up your own mind then based on that information.

All in all, another solid Norton anti-virus edition and it probably still is the best at actually keeping your PC completely free of viruses.
