I bought this for my 7yr old daughter for Christmas 2008, she only started using it in march as weather was terrible…
So far the chain has come off 50+ times and wedged beside the rear gear block and frame.
I have adjusted and reseated every componant I can as Im life long bike rider and repairer but to no avail.
Ive passed this to Amazon to deal with under warranty as Ive had enough and my daughter is so upset she cant ride it!
Its a good bike let down by some poor componants.

Very pleased with my purchase of a Raleigh Sunbeam for my daughter which was delivered within a couple of days of ordering. Great price for a proper bike with quality parts and great look. Agree with other comments about complexity of fitting gears and difficulty using grip shifts but not an issue for a 6 yr old who stays in 2nd gear anyway. Should last her many years and so great value for money.

What a great bike, my 7 year old daughter was overjoyed to get this for her birthday. lovely bright colours, sturdy and good all round as well as being reasonably priced.

do not buy this bike.i recieved it and my daughter was delighted.however the brakes and gears are really cheap and brake really easily.i spent hours trying to adjust the brake blocks but no matter how much adjusting they continued to stop the wheels from turning.the handle bar post no matter how much tightening continued to come loose.in the end i took it to a colleague who works in a bike shop who actually found there were components missing from the braking system.he considered it far too dangerous to even consider riding.
the seller did give me a complete refund with no hassle so maybe i just got a faulty item.
