The video reviews for this game look really good, but don't be fooled as these reviews only showed the best bits of the game. After something like 50 hours of game play I still hadnt finished it and the only thing keeping me playing was I wanted to finish the story, which by the way is terrible all you do is close hell gates... thats it!!! This is a waste of time don't buy it!

I bought this game on the strength of 100 or so five star reviews on Amazon. I really can't understand why. The graphics are substandard, the animation is laughable, and the game is really very dull. I've played it twice now and tried to like it but I don't. It's the worst game I've played on the PS3 so far. In the end, I attacked a beggar in disgust and got pursued and killed by the city guards. Incidentally how did the ones way ahead of my pursuers, inside a building, know I was a wanted criminal? Have they got walkie-talkies?

Bethesda Softworks, the creators of The Elder Scrolls IV shouldn't be allowed to release games; it is that simple. This game despite possibly being the longest RPG in console history is fatally flawed by a bug that totally destroys the experience. The Vampire bug/glitch has been detailed in other reviews below but the ways around it are not foolproof. I discovered the dreaded bug about 50 hours into the game or more and had already completed The Shivering Isles expansion included with this edition. Once I had rectified the glitch via changing the english language on my PS3 to spanish (yes the solution is that ridiculous) then saved my progress and reverted back to english the game had wiped any knowledge or recognition that I had completed the Shivering Isles expansion (in itself 30 hours of gameplay). To say I was not impressed would be an understatement and that a game like this can be re-released without the original problem being fixed shows just how pathetic a software house Bethesda are. They also released the far more enjoyable and less painful an experience Fallout 3 which is now being slated for their lack of quality control when it comes to downloadable content. Basically xbox and PC users are finding their downloadable content isn't working having paid for it. Hardly a problem for PS3 users as Bethesda have no plans to release any Fallout 3 DLC for our console due to being in Microsoft's pocket. All in all I will never buy anything released by Bethesda again and would urge anyone who wants a pleasant gaming experience to steer clear of their products.

A short review since i have not played it much yet but the graphics look good and the maps are large. There does seem to be a number of little glitches.
